Huge show last night here at Jamaica Tamboo! It was a real Jamaican style concert, a bunch of local up and coming artists stepped on first and tried to impress the crowd, some of them got the crowd going nuts. Busy Signal went on after and got the crowd up and then Vibes Cartell came on as the headliner and was awesome! He stayed on until about 5 or 6 AM and everyone was loving it. And of course my personal favorite Troublesum got on and killed it! Started off with his hit song “Touch” and then threw in a few other hot tracks. He is trying to make it big in the US so I’m excited to follow him as he gets big since I got to see him when its just coming together from the start. My last day in Jamaica today, hopefully the weather gets better so I can enjoy the sun and maybe even a booze cruise.
It may be the last week of Spring Break, but that doesn’t stop our students from partying like there is no tomorrow, especially because it is their only spring break!! Everyone reported over to the Jungle as soon as those gates opened. The Easter weekend allowed more of the locals to come party with us too. That got the Jungle really going crazy. Everyone is really excited about this concert here at Tamboo tomorrow night. It features Vybz Cartell, and hopefully we’ll see Troblesum up on the stage too!
Yesterday was the first day in Negril for several of our Spring Breakers, and it was the perfect day for them to come. No one wasted time getting to the beach for the day. The water here is just crystal clear and beautiful and the perfect backdrop for the STS Spring Break Headquarters - Jamaica Tamboo. Anything you want you can get on the beach, from Lobster to Aloe to Banana Boat Rides. So many of our STS Spring Breakers never want to leave this place, and it isn’t hard to see why…

Yesterday I went into the cut of Jamaica and got to take in a little of the real culture. The security guard next door at Legends took STS on a trip up to the mountains to see his place and chill with some locals, drink and cook up a feast. The food was cooked with rain water that he caught in buckets with a filtration system he built himself. The house does not have plumbing or any of the amenities most of us are used to. It was a shack he built himself with siding built straight on the mountain that looked over the whole area. We also got a tour of the village and saw the plantation fields. A few spring breakers came with the STS crew and said it was one of the best experiences of their lives.

Shaggy put on one hell of a show! He was unbelievable and the spring break crowd loved it. He pulled one girl up on the stage and let her sing with him and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone more excited. I got to go into his tent and chill with him for a little bit myself and got a picture with him! But the show was amazing and a ton of people were there. We have a huge Salisbury crowd here at Tamboo this week and they have been having an amazing time (most told me they like Jamaica more than Acapulco!) Another sold out booze cruise today for Salisbury and more…
The weather at home delayed the parties on Sunday but it couldn’t stop it! Flights from all over the US were delayed while we waited here anxious for them to get here for the week to start. It’s a good thing that the open bar party at the Jungle is 8 hours and goes until 6 in the morning. Everyone got crazy upstairs drinking Red Stripe or their mixed drink of choice. We were all happy to see the new arrivals come in. There was drinking, contests, shoutouts to the schools, and just absolute craziness. The party didn’t stop at 2AM when the upstairs closed though. The Jungle is the place where you have the party and the after party at the same bar! Everyone just moves downstairs to go get on the dancefloor and pick out their partner for the night…
it’s always great to see who ends up with who!

Happy St Pattys Day, and ever better its Shaggy day. JamFest tonight is going to be unreal and Shaggys face is posted all over Negril. Everyone is extremely excited for this concert and Waves has opened up a general admission price of $25 for those that don’t want to spend $45 for open bar. The beach party today should be crazy as well with this being the first beach day with everyone in town. DJ Taz and Troublesum keepin it real at Jamaica Tamboo!
3/15/08-day too late
Foam Party at Margaritaville is always one of the best parties of the week. I dont know how many times I’ve heard from people that there is no way in hell they are getting in the foam and then an hour and 3 drinks later and they are stripping off there clothes and diving in face first. Why should last night be any different? We started off taking shots of overproof rum! It was some of my friends from New Jerseys last night out so they were ready to wil’ out. A lot of people coming in today means the beach will be madness again tomorrow, and Negril is starting to get fired up about Shaggy!
Saturday night we had our STS Party at our Headquarters. Tamboo!!! Students who had teh VIP Package already got in free and others could pay $25 and get all the drinks they wanted from 10P-3A. DJ Taz ran the mic…. he’s always a favorite with the ladies
The parties at Tamboo are so great because people can dance in the sand or on stage if they like, or they can hang out on the deck, play beer pong, card games, or just hang out.
Thursday in Negril….The morning started off with 2 busloads of students headed up to Y.S’s falls at 9AM. I guess they must have heard what an amazing trip it was from the week before because everyone wanted to go on it. Those who could manage the 9 am wake up call went and separated for the day to see the wonder of the interior.
Those who stayed behind enjoyed a power hour by the beach, and some even went Jet Skiing. Later in the evening, everyone headed over to the Coral Seas Beach Bonfire for some flip cup, beer pong, and other contests. I don’t know how some of these kids hit it so hard all week and were still bonging beers last night!
