be covered by this plan. In addition, written verification by a
physician of sickness or injury must be received by STS by registered
mail, confirmed facsimile, or overnight courier NO LATER THAN 24
HOURS AFTER SCHEDULED DEPARTURE TIME. Failure to follow these directions
invalidates the Trip Cancellation Plan.
An Attending Physician's Statement to confirm sickness or
injury will be required prior to refund. Refunds for travel arrangements
cancelled due to death will not be processed until a copy of death
certificate is provided to Student Travel Services.
Plan begins when trip is paid in full.
Items not covered:
Non-Refundable Scheduled Air Tickets. However, if cancellation notification is
received at least 48 hours prior to the departure date, unused air tickets
may be eligible for credit toward a future booking on the same air carrier
for the cost of the airline imposed re-ticketing fee. PLEASE NOTE:
Eligibility for credit toward a future booking is dependent on air carrier
policy and not all unused air tickets will be eligible.
Occupancy Surcharges. For cancellations
15 or more days prior to scheduled departure, the remaining travelers
are responsible for paying occupancy surcharges. For cancellations
less than 15 days prior to scheduled departure, occupancy surcharges
for the remaining travelers will be deducted from the canceling
traveler's refund.
The STS Trip Cancellation Plan is provided by Student Travel Services,
Inc. and is not part of the Travel Protection Plan provided by
Travel Insured International, Inc.; however, the same general exclusions
apply.
Refunds for cancellation will be in the same form as the original payment
and will be reduced by the price of the STS Travel Protection Plan, applicable
occupancy surcharges, and the cost of non-refundable scheduled air tickets.
Refunds will be processed within 48 hours of receipt of completed
and approved forms and/or documentation.
