    STUDENT TRAVEL SERVICES PROTECTION PLAN

    Protect your vacation. STS strongly recommends purchasing the STS Travel Protection Plan. This plan allows you to cancel for any reason prior to departure as outlined below. The Travel Protection Plan will automatically be added to all trip invoices. Your STS Travel Protection Plan must be paid in full at or before the time you make final payment for your travel package. You may decline the policy simply by clicking on the cancel button on your customer screen or omit Travel Protection Plan payment with you final trip balance payment. The Travel Protection Plan may not be added after trip has been paid for in full.

    PLAN OPTIONS

    Hotel Only Packages - STS Travel Protection Plan $39.00

    You may cancel your trip for any reason prior to check-in date and receive a full refund of your travel package less your $39.00 Travel Protection Plan premium, your non-refundable trip deposit ($50-$100) and any exclusions outlined below.

    Air/Hotel Packages - Travel Protection Plan $69.00

    You may cancel your trip for any reason up to 2 hours prior to your flights scheduled departure time and receive a full refund of your travel package less your $69.00 Travel Protection Plan premium, your $100 non-refundable trip deposit and any exclusions outlined below. In order to receive credit for the flight portion of your package, you must cancel 48 hours prior to departure. See below for details.

    DESCRIPTION OF COVERAGE

    STS PRE-DEPARTURE TRIP CANCELLATION BENEFIT

    The STS Pre-Departure Trip Cancellation Benefit provides you the right to cancel your trip for any reason up until 2 hours prior to scheduled departure time except for “no shows” and “no show” related cancellations (“no shows” include passengers who arrive at the airport or gate too late to travel or who fail to have the required proof of citizenship). Simply call 1-800-648-4849 no later than two hours prior to your scheduled departure for Air/Hotel Packages and anytime prior to initial check-in date for Hotel Only Packages (see below for additional details regarding how to file your claim). Your Benefit is effective once your travel package and the STS Travel Protection Plan are paid in full.

    The following non-refundable costs, charges, exclusions, and deductions apply to your cancellation:

    • The price of the STS Travel Protection Plan.

    • Non-refundable air tickets is excluded. However, if your cancellation notification is received at least 48 hours prior to the departure date, unused air tickets may be eligible for credit toward a future booking on the same air carrier for the cost of the airline imposed re-ticketing fee. PLEASE NOTE: Eligibility for credit toward a future booking is dependent on air carrier policy and not all unused air tickets will be eligible. In the event air is booked on a STS Public Charter, a voucher will be issued on the amount of the airfare valid for any travel booked through STS for 1 year from Cancellation date and subject to a $50 rebooking fee. PLEASE NOTE: Eligibility for credit toward a future booking is dependent on air carrier policy and not all unused air tickets will be eligible.

    • Occupancy surcharges. Occupancy surcharges may result if the number of individuals occupying a room changes. For cancellations 30 or more days prior to scheduled departure, the remaining travelers are responsible for paying occupancy surcharges. For cancellations made less than 30 days prior to scheduled departure date, occupancy surcharges for the remaining travelers will be deducted from your refund.

    • Miscellaneous fees and charges. Any fees or charges not directly related to your travel package such as reinstatement fees, change fees, etc.

    Trip Cancellation Claims – Contact Student Travel Services, Inc. (STS) at 1-800-648-4849 no later than two hours prior to your scheduled departure for Air/Hotel Packages and anytime prior to initial check-in date for Hotel Only Packages. STS will then forward you the appropriate form that must be completed by you. This form must be received by STS within 21 days of your cancellation. Failure to contact STS will forfeit your plan reimbursement. Refunds for cancellations will be made in the same form as the original payment and will be reduced by the items outlined above. Refunds will be processed within 48 hours of receipt of completed and approved STS forms and/or documentation.

    Payment of STS Travel Protection Plan - Your cancellation right is not effective until your travel package and the STS Travel Protection Plan is paid in full to STS. Under no circumstance can the STS Travel Protection Plan be added after you have made final payment for your travel package.

    Student Travel Services, Inc. provides the STS Pre-Departure Trip Cancellation Benefit and this benefit is not part of the Travel Guard Travel Insurance effective on or after your departure date and offered by our designated provider; however, the same general exclusions and limitations of coverage apply.

    The STS Travel Protection Plan is non-transferable and must be repurchased if you want to have coverage on amended reservations.

    The STS Travel Protection Plan may not be purchased within 7 days of departure.

    Travel Insured International Student Protection Plan

    Student Travel Services, Inc. has purchased on behalf of all travelers the Travel Insured International Student Protection Plan.
