Barcelo Dominican Beach — Punta Cana Dominican Republic

This all-inclusive resort is located on a long stretch of white sand beach on the Caribbean Sea just 25 minutes away from the Punta Cana airport. The beautiful beach reaches all the way up to the Playero Bar and then beyond to the pool lounge chairs. The hotel features 9 restaurants and 8 bars. 3 of the restaurants are buffet style and 6 are a la carte (reservations required). The a la carte restaurants offer a variety of Mexican, Italian, Brazilian, Spanish, Japanese and a Beach Grill. There is also a snack bar, Passaparola, serving pizza and snacks 24 hours. Every restaurant offers wine, beer, soda and water to drink. Each unique bar offers it's own experience. During the daytime the popular bars are Bar La Gaviota, a pool bar with swim-up seating, Playero Bar by the beach and Le Cafe Coffee Bar. As the sun begins to set the action shifts over to The Amigo Lobby Bar which offers live music, Time Out sports bar with pool tables and flat screen TV's and El Pueblito Casino Bar. The casino is open from 7pm until sunrise and offers slot machines, blackjack, roulette and texas hold-em. Each of the evening bars are circled around a large seating area which faces a stage that acts as host to nightly shows. Starting at midnight the Disco Caribe nightclub gets going and stays poppin' until 4am. Every Saturday night the hotel also features a beach party from 11pm until 4am.

Other important features of the resort include a gym overlooking the beach and pool, non-motorized water excursions, lounge chairs at the pool and beach, conference rooms, in-room minibar, internet centers, medical center, WiFi connection (additional charge), 2 jacuzzis, 3 pools and a mini-mart/souvenier shop. For those that are into athletics you can enjoy tennis courts, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, kayaking and aerobics. There are also motorized water activities available for an extra fee.

The rooms have either two double beds or one king bed and come equipped with air conditioning, cable television, balcony, a safe for no additional charge, hair dryer, coffee maker, iron and ironing board and a minibar. The rooms are spread throughout the entire resort.
